Holly Hunter was an American actor who was famous in the film Broadcast News The Firm The Piano The Incredibles. Holly Hunter was awarded numerous prizes, including an Oscar for her movie Piano. Actresses have a long career of involvement in Broadway as well as Off-Broadway productions. In her early years, Helen Keller was her favorite character in a 5th class production. In the fifth grade, following a bout of mumps, she lost her hearing in her left ear. However, she did not let it stop her from performing. As a young woman she was a drama student in the college level and then moved from Pittsburgh to New York City from Pittsburgh so that she could achieve her goals. She met Beth Henley in an elevator and they collaborated on Broadway Crimes of the Heart the first movie Hunter made. After she was settled in Los Angeles, she began to search for film roles. The role she was offered came as an actress supporting the main character in Swing Shift. Her career spans more than 30 years and she's appeared in many TV movies, films and series. Holly Hunter was awarded a Hollywood Walk of Fame Star and also the Women in Film Lucy Award.
